The National Weather Service had been predicting 1 to 2 inches of snow through Thursday in eastern Nebraska.
West Point was to have gotten under an inch.
But by 7:45 Thursday morning, West Point to Norfolk commuters encountered heavier snow, with slick surfaces on Highway 275 and other routes.
Some drivers in West Point struggled to get up hills in town.
A Winter Weather Advisory was to go until 3pm Thursday in much of northeast Nebraska.
A chance of freezing drizzle today was still in the NWS Cuming county forecast , as of 9am.
Plows were out , and KTIC’s parking lot had inherited a pile of snow by early morning.
Another storm system may move into the Midwest by next Tuesday.
